Private Rooms at CVMCCentral Vermont Medical Center, responding to studies regarding single patient rooms versus multiple occupancy rooms in acute care environments, opened 2 North in May 2009, a newly remodeled medical surgical wing. This wing features single occupancy rooms with private bathrooms and apparatus for handling bariatric patients. Single patient rooms are a safe patient- centered option which provides enhanced infection control and are being adopted in hospitals across the country.
Creating all private rooms is a major initiative for CVMC. It is the cutting-edge environment for delivering a quality experience and successful clinical outcomes. Patients prefer the privacy and dignity afforded by private rooms.
