When You Are Pregnant...

there's a lot to think about it:
How do I learn more about what to expect during my pregnancy?
The National Women's Health Information Center is a good website to visit to learn more. There are also many books that will tell you what to expect throughout your pregnancy. We also encourage you to come to one of our Birthing Center Open House events as well as attend our Childbirth Education Classes given by our certified childbirth educators.

Who will help with the birth?
You want to pick a doctor or midwife you can relate to and feel confident in. CVMC has both at Central Vermont OB/GYN and Midwifery. Click on the link to learn more or to set up an appointment:

Where will the baby be born?
Some people prefer to have their child at home. Others prefer to have their baby at a birthing center because of the added safety of having trained specialists near by and because of the added services only a medical center can provide. If you decide to go with a birthing center, we hope you'll consider CVMC. Our new Garden Path Birthing Center was built with you in mind. Private rooms, labor tubs, views of Spruce Mountain, and room service are just a few of the amenities. Our knowledgable and helpful staff will give you the information you need to choose the birthing options that work best for you.

Who will be the child's doctor after the birth?
It's really important to find a doctor for your baby before she/he is born. Your baby will need to have frequent check-ups with a doctor during the first few years. CVMC has two pediatric practices:
Associates in Pediatrics
Barre Pediatrics

Pre-natal Yoga at CVMC
As the delivery date approaches, you want to be relaxed, ready and in good physical condition. Our Pre-natal exercise classes can help.
