StaffingCVMC employs the following professionals in Rehabilitation Services:
Physical Therapists - (PT) are licensed health care professionals who evaluate and treat people with health problems resulting from injury or disease. PT's assess joint motion, muscle strength and endurance, function, and performance of daily activities among other responsibilities. Treatment includes therapeutic exercise, endurance training, and modalities.
Occupational Therapists - (OT) are licensed health care professionals who evaluate and treat people with physical, cognitive, sensory, motor and/or psychological disabilities. OT's help patients master the skills needed for self-care, work and play. Treatment may include therapeutic methods, applied and assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
Speech-Language Pathologists - (SLP) are nationally certified, highly trained professionals educated in the study of human communication, its development, and its disorders. They assess, diagnose, and treat the speech, language, cognitive-communication (thought processes, logic, reasoning, problem solving, organization, memory and etc.) voice, and swallowing skills of adults and children. SLP's support and promote appropriate care and services for individuals and their families with communication and swallowing disorders. Treatment may include speech/language/cognitive and therapeutic exercises, assistive technology, compensatory strategies, and environmental modifications
Physical Therapy Assistants - (PTA) are licensed skilled health care providers who work under the supervision of Physical Therapists. Duties of a PTA may include assisting the PT in implementing treatment programs, training patients in exercises, conducting treatments and reporting to the PT on the patient's responses.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants- (COTA) are licensed skilled health care providers who work under the supervision of Occupational Therapists. Duties of a COTA may include assisting the OT in implementing treatment programs, conducting established treatments, training patients with assistive technology in completing their daily living activities, and reporting to the OT on the patient's progress. |
