Outpatient Health EducationMedical Nutrition Therapy utilizes diet and lifestyle changes to treat or manage chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Many of these conditions are improved by changes in diet, regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
At Central Vermont Medical Center, Medical Nutrition Therapy is offered through our Outpatient Health Education Department. A Registered Dietitian (RD) provides individual and group education and counseling, all located at Central Vermont Medical Center's campus.
In addition to Nutrition Counseling, Outpatient Health Education offers the following services: - Diabetes Self-Management Education
- Tobacco Cessation
Group sessions and classes on specific nutrition topics are also offered throughout the year as part of the Healthy Community Program.
