Emily Urquhart-Scott MD recently joined Associates in Pediatrics, a CVMC Medical Group Practice located on the Central Vermont Medical Center Campus. Dr. Urquhart-Scott received her B.A. from Smith College and post-baccalaureate study at the University of Colorado, Denver. She was awarded her MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and did her pediatric residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center. She has active certifications in pediatric advanced life support and neonatal resuscitation. Dr. Urquhart-Scott served in the Peace Corps for two years after graduating from Smith. She worked with women and children in the Sub-Saharan region of Mali, West Africa focusing on improved nutrition and oral-re-hydration. She was a published photography contest winner in the International Peace Corps News. “What I enjoy most about my career,” said Dr. Urquhart-Scott “is working with kids and their parents as a family unit. I feel strongly about the importance of education and prevention to promote a healthy and happy childhood.”
“My philosophy about medicine/patient care and of life in general: ‘Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.’ Plato” Dr. Urquhart-Scott and her husband Richard live in East Montpelier with their three children Jasper age 5 ½ , Madeleine age 3½, and Willow who is 1 year old.
