Admission/Registration

What is Patient Registration?
Patient Registration is your first stop when coming to the medical center. It is located directly off the Main Lobby. There you will need to provide your insurance information to the clerk who is checking you in. If you are coming to stay overnight in the hospital, you may also think of this as “Admissions.”

Patient Registration Hours:
6:30 am to 8:30 pm.

Contact Us:
Our main number is 802-371-4283

Things to think about before you come to the hospital:

For Outpatients:
  • please find out what your insurance policy plans to cover for the scheduled visit.
  • If you have a co-pay, you may give it to the Registration Clerk at the time of registration.
For Inpatients:
  • make and bring with you a list of ALL medications you are taking - this includes over-the-counter drugs, vitamins and supplements - include the drug name, dose and how often you are taking it. You will be giving this list to the nurse who meets you on the floor.
  • Make and bring a list of any allergies you may have. This too is for the nurse.
  • Do not bring any valuables with you, including money or jewelry
  • If you have special needs - such as need for an interpreter or wheelchair - please let us know before you arrive
  • Note: If you are scheduled for surgical admission to CVMC, you may receive a telephone call from the Hospital's Registration Department prior to the admission date to begin the registration process.
When you come:
  • arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled appointment
  • Present your insurance card and be prepared to go over your information with the Registration Clerk. It is important to insure we have current and accurate data on file. This will help to avoid billing problems.
  • You will be asked to sign a consent form for treatment as well as an authorization to submit a claim to your insurance company. Please be assured that your treatment and stay will be handled in such a way to keep both medical and financial information private and protected.
